Now, I have to say this assignment had to be one of my most favorited I have ever done in Leadership. The whole concept is creative. It took about 2 months from start to finish, and with that time you are expected to have 2 Leaders, similarities and Differences between the two, a 3 minute video of you talking about your hero, why they are your hero, what you learned from your hero, and what you learned form the project, as well as your GLOs used. It was a long project, but worth the time. The first week, we started with our Hawaii Leader. For me it was Queen Emma. The second week, we chose a Leader not from Hawaii. Mine was Agatha Christie. Then the third week we started putting it on google slides with their similarities and differences as well as have a good theme for the presentation. The fourth week we made a test video. Basically, it was just to make sure you could understand how to perform audio ducking so you could make your final video. Then, we used 3 weeks to actually make the video itself. Out of the entire project, the video took the most planning, creating, and time. In the second to last week, we added the other slides needed such as why they are your hero, what your learned from them, what you learned from the project, and your GLOs used. The final week, we presented the slides. I have to say, I was proud of the project. I put my time, effort, and everything I had into it and am satisfied with the final product. 😌
My leader from Hawaii is Queen Emma. Queen Emma was the ruler of Hawaii in the 19th century. Queen Emma's life was surrounded with many obstacles and hard moments like her only child dying at 4 years old and shortly after her husband died. But in the end she still managed to be successful by being the found of Queen's Medical Center here in Oahu. She inspires me to not let things, no matter how hard the hurt you, get in your way of being successful.

📚Non-Hawaii Leader📚
My leader not from Hawaii is Agatha Christie. She is a well-known thriller novel writer in the 19th century. Agatha too had many setbacks in her life, like her splitting up with her husband. The following year she went into depression and even disappeared for a while. But she still came back from that and continued writing novels. Reading about her shows me, that just like my other leader, don't let depression or sadness stop you from what you love doing the most.

✨My Hero✨
My Hero is Leonidas Jaramillo, or my dad :). My dad is my hero because, as with all my other leaders, dealt with hardships. Among the many, his father's death was the hardest for him. But that did not stop him from becoming the amazing person he is today. Now a cinematographer, his name has shown up in memorable titles such as Inception, Captain America Winter Soldier, Star Trek and many others. He also worked with Cindy Crawford, Angelina Jolie, Patrick Stewart, Coldplay, Rihanna, John Legend just last winter, and most recently, Kevin Hart. Listening to him taught me that it doesn't matter where you come from, who you are, or how your life is. You always have a chance at greatness.
As for the highlights and lowlights of the project, I have a few. An obvious highlight is I loved asking questions about my dad's early life since I've never asked these many questions before from him. His story is very interesting and inspiring and could have an impact on anyone listening to his life story. Another highlight is surprisingly working on the slides themselves. I love to tinker with presentation themes and like to make it neat and pretty haha. For the lowlights, I have to say, as much as I was proud of making it, the final video was draining and I was constantly worrying about it. If we were in-person you could tell I was heavily relieved that I got a good reaction from the audience and a good grade from it. As far as lowlights go, though, that is it! Oh and almost forgot, my favorite highlight is the reaction from the audience and the good grade. Nothing feels better than approval of the project you have been working on for the past 2 months!
My lesson learned from this project is more the knowledge of something rather than a tip. As I was asking questions about my dad's success, I started wondering how he got there. And he replied, his hardships. And as he started talking more and more about his dad who died, I realized - There is always a moment in a person's life that shaped them into who they are today.
