✨ Quarter Blog✨ (💫Story Edition! 💫)

This had to be a pretty average quarter - if you're a student in 2021. Read along for perspectives, opinions, plot twists and more on the insight of the 3rd quarter 2021!

Summary

It started the third week of January, on January 5th, 2021. It was right after a cold winter - or, at least it felt that way to me since I was in Arizona. For the first month of school, that's where I was. For that time, we worked on the beginning of the long project, My Hero. It was kinda tricky with the time

change... starting school and 11:00am and ending school at 6pm😫. Thankfully, at the end of that month, I was back in Hawaii. In February, we got to do a LOTT more My Hero things. At this point, we were kind of in the middle of the big project. The Book Club also got more activity going on around this time because finally, everyone was able to get the book(A Walk to Remember). For me, the Book Club has been almost therapeutic for me. I know that sounds strange, but it feels nice for every Friday, at the end of the week to have discussions on the book and also sometimes on life. And then of course, came the awakening point. If you read my blogs, you may have read about it. On the 12th of February, I started surfing again. Now usually, I HATE surfing. Mainly because I see all waves as TSUNAMIS. And I'm not saying I don't anymore - just that I'm not cowering in total fear EVERY TIME I'm out there. So, in a way, it was an achievement for me and (as cheesy as this sounds), I faced my fears. And then came the anger. Again, if you've read my past blogs you might now what I mean. But at this point in the 3rd quarter, I got extremely mad at someone. So mad that it HURTS. And I the way I escaped from this anger: books. Now most of you would be like, "Books? Ewwww those are boring". But really, when you think about it, it's a whole new world that you can explore. Full of adventure, villains, heroes, and much, much more. And I use it as an escape. And I'm not ashamed to say that it works. Back to the story, we finally did the big presentation! After 2 months of tireless working, we actually presented the entire thing. I have to say, the outcome was a bit surprising for me. I thought I was gonna do horrible, but in the end I was proud of myself and did a good job. I also got past my 70th blog milestone! It was a big thing for me, since I can see how I've grown and matured throughout these two years. And it's not over yet! And finally, in March, I experienced REAL PAIN. Not emotional, but physical. Remind me again to stay on a consistent running schedule every day because that first day back it HURT. And of course, we got a bit into planning for 8th grade graduation. . . And yup, that pretty much sums up the quarter!

Highlights + Lowlights

This quarter was a rollercoaster of emotions, so we should get started with the lowlights n get those guys done with. Of course, a big one is gonna be I-ready. As you already now, I-ready is the WORST. I don't even know why we are still doing it as 8th GRADERS! So not only was it torturous but resulted in constant headaches. The slightest thing could cause a major headache aghhhh. Another major lowlight was the anger part. If you read above, I was very angry at someone, and even if I was able to vent through books, anger still isn't the best feeling
😔. Another lowlight is the school schedule when I was in Arizona in January. There was major time change, so school started at 11:00am(which was kinda nice) but ended at 6pm(which was. . . horrible). And my last lowlight is going to be the pain of running again. You have to be consistent in something like that lol. Now to the good part: highlights. My first highlight is going to be reading and the book club. Probably one of my two most fav things lol. Another is being able to present that project. Ngl I thought I was gonna get eaten alive for the presenting part, but aside from the nervousness, I think I did pretty good. Nothing is better than the proudness I felt after I thanked the audience😌. Another highlight is getting past my 70th blog milestone! The accomplishment was a big one for me and I was able to see how I've grown as a leadership student and a person in general. And finally, my last highlight is facing my fears of surfing and just doing it! All in all, while there were some pretty bad lowlights, the good outweighs the bad and so it was a pretty good quarter!

Lesson Learned

These are all the books I've read this quarter...
My Lesson for this quarter is simple: Don't stop doing things. Now I learned this specific lesson from my dad, when he told me about his life lesson. I realized - it doesn't matter who you are or where you're from or whatever your ethnicity is. Everyone has a chance to do something and make a change in the world somehow. It just happens to be a bit harder for some people than others. But don't let that weigh you down. My dad was able to rise from his troubled childhood and become the amazing person he is today. So, don't stop doing things and try to make this world better somehow.

If school is reopened in the 4th quarter are you planning to come? Why or Why Not? And what things are you looking forward to in the 4th quarter (especially if you would be returning to campus)?

Now my answer to this question is yes. Mainly because I don't want to be stuck at home 24/7. It would be good for me, and anyone in general who is stuck inside during a pandemic, to be able to be social and in person rather than talk to a computer all day lol. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends and being able to actually talk to them in person and maybe even going to mcdonalds or boba tea lol.
